Validas AG becomes Contributing Member of the Eclipse Foundation

Validas AG has joined the Eclipse Foundation as a Contributing Member, becoming part of a global community committed to open-source collaboration and innovation. Through this partnership, Validas is actively supporting Eclipse S-CORE, a strategic initiative aimed at transforming the automotive industry with a standardized, modular software platform for Software-Defined Vehicles (SDVs). As part of its contribution, Validas is focusing on the safety evaluation of key tools such as Bazel and Google Test, reinforcing the foundation’s efforts to ensure reliability and safety in next-generation automotive software.

The Eclipse Foundation provides a mature, scalable, and business-friendly environment for open source development. It is home to the Eclipse IDE, Jakarta EE, Eclipse Software Defined Vehicle, and over 425 open source projects spanning cloud, IoT, AI, automotive, and more. With over 350 members worldwide, the Foundation has been a trusted home for open collaboration for more than 20 years, fostering vendor-neutral governance and strategic industry partnerships.

Eclipse S-CORE tackles one of the automotive industry’s most persistent challenges: fragmented and proprietary software stacks. By uniting OEMs, suppliers, and developers around a common platform, S-CORE reduces complexity, promotes reuse, accelerates development, and enables scalable innovation. Its open, modular architecture minimizes integration effort, enhances safety, and speeds time-to-market for next-generation SDVs.
