Title: Analysis of the Infineon SW Development Tool Chain

Abstract:

Infineon is delivering CPUs like the Tricore Aurix together with the software to use it. The packages are used within safety relevant applications like car control. For these cases the ISO 26262 requires not only to develop the software safely, but also to analyze the used tools for software development and to qualify the tools that need confidence in the applied development process. In this talk we present the results of applying the ISO 26262 conforming tool chain analysis Method and the experiences with the Tool Chain Analyzer tool. We also show how examples for process measurements that have been introduced to reduce the qualification needs of some tools. Furthermore we present the results of the qualification of the only remaining tool, an AUTOSAR code generator. With this combination of tool chain analysis, process extensions and tool qualification Infineon now has a tool chain for software development with the required confidence for all ASILs including the required documentations.
